National Airlines

National Airlines was one of the most popular airlines in the United States, especially in the 1960s and 70s. Their iconic Sun King logo and famous “Fly Me” advertising campaign earned them global attention and an expanding route structure. National’s most heavily traveled routes were between the Northeast US and Florida hot spots, but the airline also flew extensively to California and other destinations on the West Coast as well as several points in Europe. Pan Am bought National in 1980.
